Have you ever considered creating a vision board to showcase your heart’s intentions and desires? Perhaps you’re even wondering, what is a vision board?
Simply put, a vision board is a tool that helps you gain clarity on what you want in your life. Often times, these are goals you aspire to attain or wishes you hope to fulfill.
Having a vision board provides you with a daily reminder of what you’re working towards. For those who believe in the Law of Attraction, a vision board can help draw experiences and outcomes into your life by helping you place daily importance and intentions around what you want to accomplish.
(If you’re interested in learning more about The Law of Attraction, I highly recommend the book The Secret.)
Did you know many of the world’s famous leaders, entrepreneurs, and influential people use vision boards? Now it’s time to make your own!
Create Your Vision Board Using These Simple Steps
1.) The easiest way to make a vision board is to collect pictures of images that represent what you want to call into your life.
For instance, if you’d like to practice five minutes of meditation every day, you might find a picture that represents meditation to you (Buddha, river rocks, a yogi, etc.). You’d glue that picture to a blank piece of paper or board of some sort. You might choose to paste words onto your board too. (You can find images from online or cut them out of magazines)
If you’re not into cutting things out, consider cutting and pasting images on your computer and making a collage that way! I prefer the old fashion scrapbooking way, but I totally respect those who are more digitally-minded.
2.) Make the vision board about YOU (and no one else).
A vision board is not about anyone else’s expectations or hopes for you. It’s about what YOU want for YOU. It should be a reflection of your unique hopes, desires, and dreams.
3.) Place your vision board in a place where you’ll see it every day.
Placing your board in a location where you will see it every day draws your attention to your intentions and helps you focus on them. By being reminded of our hopes and dreams, we’re more likely to make them a reality.
4.) Revise your vision board, if needed.
Many people feel that once they make their vision board and have pictures pasted down, it can’t be revised. NOT TRUE! The Universe responds to the intentions you put out there, so if something no longer feels right for you, take it off or replace it with something that has more meaning.
5.) Hone in on the FEELINGS not the THINGS.
Placing value on the emotional feelings behind the images will help the manifestation process work. Try focusing on how certain intentions make you feel. Limit your focus on the physical object itself. For instance, if you have a picture of a scale because you want to lose weight, instead of focusing on the number the scale might show, focus on how you will feel when you reach your desired weight.
6.) Dream it, then BELIEVE it.
So now you have your vision board created and it’s time to BELIEVE each of those intentions is already coming to you. Every day, when you see your board, express gratitude to the universe for bringing you what you desire.
You might say, “Thank you, Universe, for my nourishing relationships. I feel loved and fulfilled.” By thanking the universe for what you’re calling into your life, it attracts those very things to you. Then, let go. Don’t hold on to expectations. Just trust the Universe.
Let the vision board speak to your conscious and subconscious minds when you see it every day. Allow it to keep you focused on your dreams and desires. Let go of any doubts and embrace the magic and power of your heart’s intentions.
I have experienced the power of vision boards. Last year, I wrote monthly intentions on the first day of each month and it really worked! (You can see more of my intention setting posts under the Spirituality tab on the main menu).
Opportunities showed up in my life which aligned with the intentions I wrote down and my own behavior was much more focused and attentive to what I really wanted to accomplish. So, I highly recommend this process!
I’d love to see the vision board your created, so please feel free to leave a comment on the blog or send me a message! May your hearts’ desires become your reality!
I am currently creating my own updated vision board so check back soon to see the final product! 🙂
